Electric System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) in Minutes

Fort Collins Light & Power reliability in one sentence: On average, a customer in Fort Collins can expect a 76.31 minute outage about every 3.57 years.

SAIDI is how long, on average, each customer was without power in the last year.

* The 22Q3 SAIDI value of 21.17 minutes increased from 12.95 minutes for the 12-month measurement period for the prior quarter.

* Taken into context SAIDI, CAIDI and SAIFI, 22Q3 reliability showed an overall reduction with a decrease in frequency of outages (135 outages versus last quarter's 136), and an increase in duration of outages (27,622 customer hours out versus 16,851 customer hours out for the 12-month measurement period for Q2). While there was an overall decrease in reliablity, this number still represents reliability in the top quartile of public power agencies in North America.

* The increase in customer-hours out is a function of both the type of equipment failures that occurred in the 12-month period ending 22Q3 and the number of customer affected by them.  Duration of outage was largely driven by 3 splice failures on mainline feeders that affected more customers and required additional sectionalizing time in order to safely perform repairs.
